Doing business in South Korea does not happen automatically. The search for the right information and reliable contacts and partners can cost a great deal of time and money. The Netherlands Embassy in Seoul can offer support.

The route to the embassy should preferably start at the  Netherlands Foreign Trade Agency (EVD). The EVD is in fact the gateway for entrepreneurs to the network of diplomatic posts in other countries. Information on the economic situation in South Korea, promising sectors, tendering programmes or amended legislation and regulations is all available from the EVD. Most of the information is free of charge.

The Commercial Department of the Embassy is responsible for trade and investment promotion between the Netherlands and South Korea. Dutch investors can contact the Commercial Department for:

• an exploratory talk
• information and advice about doing business in South Korea, opportunities and threats
• sectors and themes, legislation, potential business partners, tenders, market approach, product introductions
• assistance with trade issues, market entrance, joint trade promotion.
