Trade with Korea
The Korean economy is the 12th largest in the world. Strong sectors include semiconductors, electronics, cars, shipbuilding and steel.
Dutch exports to Korea
In 2006 the Netherlands exported for 3 billion USD to Korea and are the third largest exporter to Korea within the EU (after Germany and France, but before for example Italy and the UK). In 2003, the Dutch export to Korea was about half the export of Italy and France; now it is comparable. The growth in Dutch exports is largely attributable to one company: ASML, which produces systems for the semiconductor industry. Other important products include computer chips, waste & scrap of stainless steel, pork, materials for orthopaedic appliances and skim milk powder preparation.
