Visit of H.E. Park Yongho to be inspired by Dutch startup ecosystem
On June 20 and 21 2016, H.E. Park Yongho, Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Young Generation, will visit the Netherlands. His visit will focus on the Dutch startup ecosystem and aims to a) learn from and be inspired by the Dutch startup ecosystem and the Netherlands’ innovative economy b) explore opportunities for Dutch startups in Korea and Korean startups in the Netherlands, mainly in the areas of gaming, smart farming/agro and clean energy c) generate follow-up and intensify cooperation, for example in relation to the upcoming visit of Prime Minister Mark Rutte to Korea from September 26-29 2016.
On June 20, Mr. Park’s visit will commence with a dinner with Dutch startup experts from among others Startup Delta, Keadyn VC, Get in the Ring, Rockstart and YES!Delft in Amsterdam. The experts will brief Mr. Park on the Dutch startup ecosystem and its key success factors. Interestingly, most of these experts were guest speakers at the K.E.Y. Platform 2016 in Seoul in April 2016.
On June 21, Mr. Park will focus on the Rotterdam area, where he will learn about the Dutch ‘floating farm’ project, visit the RDM Wharf’s startup innovation campus, meet & greet industrial design/clean energy startups at YES!Delft and visit the headquarters of the world’s leading startup competition Get in the Ring.
Next, he will travel to Brussels, Belgium, where he will end his visit with a meeting with HRH Prince Constantijn of the Netherlands, who will succeed Mrs. Neelie Kroes as Special Envoy of Startup Delta 2020 per 1 July 2016.
During his visit, Mr. Park will be accompanied by Korean startup INGINE, who will engage in matchmaking with Dutch VC’s, accelerators and Dutch clean energy startups.
